Fall 2015 Final Project
Assignment: Sticks and Panels
The challenge will be to coordinate your volumetric studies, aperture families and environmental data into a larger model. As a larger study this project requires a close examination of structure, and the subdivision of the architectural surface.
While this project will begin to resemble a building it is to be developed as architectural space(s). at a scale An essential part of building is learning to design larger elements through the design of a series of smaller parts. This relationship establishes a dialogue for architectural detail. This project will allow you to apply what you have learned throughout the term. Apertures, interior, exterior, ground, and sunlight must now be incorporated to work within a structural framework. This framework should be informed by the way you assemble the paper or how you attach it to a series of secondary members. We are looking for projects that integrate unique papermaking techniques to form rigid surfaces.
